Dave Brown Passes Away – former sports director of Channel 5

Dave Brown, a former sports director for KRGV, passed away on Monday in Brownsville, it has been reported.

Brown spent more than 40 years as a sports director and contributor. He retired from his position as sports director in 2009 due to health issues, although he never stopped working.

On programs like Dave’s Dozen and 60-Sports Seconds, Brown kept working. He frequently covered first and goal on football Fridays as well. In December 2020, Brown officially retired.

Additionally, Brown was a strong supporter of Organ Donation Awareness. He had undergone a kidney transplant. He claimed that the transplant significantly improved the quality of his life.
